In 2023, Natural by Hillbrush was established, inspired by nature's organic lines. Based in the UK, we craft sustainable, high-end brushes for kitchen, bathroom, shoe care, and pet grooming. Designed and made in-house, our eco-friendly brushes are plastic-free and durable, enhancing daily routines with elegance and functionality.

Master Brand

Our logo is a registered trademark and offers the most immediate representation of Natural by Hillbrush. It features throughout our brand portfolio following an approach known as monolithic architecture, meaning our Master Brand features in all Natural by Hillbrush logo variations. Our logos are available to download below in a variety of sizes and formats for your required application.

Usage

Scale

Do not scale the logo(s) narrower than 53 millimetres or 200 pixels. Although there is no upper limit to scale, compositional balance should be carefully considered.

Context

Solid, neutral backgrounds create optimal contrast. We recommend a white or pastel background with our logo for most situations or one of our darker colours from the primary palette with a white logo for reversed contrast. Our logo can be used on photographic backgrounds that have a multiply or translucent colour layer over the image (minimum 85% opacity), however we prefer solid backgrounds. Very noisy or high contrast photographic backgrounds are not to be used behind our logo. See below for acceptable usage.

Clearance

To make sure our logo stands out, we give it space to breathe. When using our logo, the initial 'n' in our logotype sets the clear space. In this clear space, no other graphics should be used or visible to ensure impact and visibility of the logo.

It's important not to shrink the logo too much just to it fit into a composition.

Positioning

Our logo(s) should be positioned top left in a leading role and bottom right when supporting or endorsing.

Colour

 Colour is a key component to our brand guidelines and overarching identity. Care should be taken to not deviate from these palettes and to accurately reproduce each colour across print and digital environments.

  • Superset trademark symbols

  • Resolve widows and orphans on any block of text (single words on one line or single lines of text at the beginning of a paragraph or column)

  • Use upper case, weight and decoration (such as additional colour) sensibly

  • Do not mix left, right and central alignment in a single composition

  • Do not full justify or hyphenate across a paragraph

  • Do not use lower case (only capitals or sentence case)

  • Do not use ligatures

Hierarchy

While the typography may not accommodate every design situation (e.g. tradeshow graphics), each typographic style can be proportionally scaled to maintain the correct hierarchy. The size and leading of the type should be multiplied by the same factor to achieve this result.

Type as Imagery

Sometimes a composition will include design elements that sit outside the brand toolkit or appear off-brand. If you are required to deviate from the typographic styles; ensure that the Natural by Hillbrush voice is maintained. Never compromise on legibility or readability when composing type, even when it is used as imagery.
